Jacob was in foster care since the age of 12. He has overcome a lot of tragedy and grief in his young life and has become a man of strong character. He has emancipated himself from foster care and is a hard-working father who has his children residing with him. He loves his two babies and cares for his family in his time away from work. He is such a hard worker that he is known by his co-workers as “Super-Jake”. He is always willing to take on challenging jobs and even returns to his former transitional housing program to offer help and mentor other transitional-aged youth. Jake is also going to college part-time online.

Jacob is settling into his new apartment, and having a good set of cooking knives would really help him. With reliable knives, he could prepare meals safely and easily, which would boost his confidence in the kitchen. This small upgrade would make cooking more enjoyable and help him feel more at home as he embraces his independence.
