Hailey is a very creative young lady who enjoys expressing herself through fashion, makeup, and hairstyling. She has been in foster care while her family works to recover from an abusive domestic situation. Hailey has experienced living in shelters and transitioning to different placements, but she is now back with her mother and siblings, creating a home in their local community. Adjusting to school and a new environment is challenging for Hailey, especially as she copes with past trauma from domestic abuse. However, she remains optimistic about her future and is focused on moving forward with the support of her family and community.

Hailey would like to have a Singer sewing machine. She uses sewing as a coping skill when she feels sad, anxious, or simply creative. Her current sewing machine is old, does not work well, frequently breaks down, and struggles with tougher materials. Hailey fears that she won’t be able to use sewing as a coping skill when her current machine finally stops working. She would like a reliable machine that can handle sewing through denim.
