Calum was removed from his mother's care at the age of four and was adopted. However, when he turned 14, he began to clash with his adoptive mother's expectations, which led to her not allowing him to come home. As a result, he became homeless and was again placed in the foster care system by the court. Despite these challenges, Calum is well-spoken and sociable. He has set goals for his future, aiming to continue his college education while also enrolling in a welding program. Calum is a new father and aspires to be the best parent he can be for his child. He loves playing and watching basketball, but with a full-time job, caring for his child, and plans to return to school along with pursuing a vocational program, he doesn't have much time to enjoy these activities.

Calum wants to keep studying, but he needs a computer to do that. Since he has a busy life with work and classes—both online and in person—and will need to move when he turns 21, a laptop is the best option for him. He needs it not just for school, but also for important tasks like online banking, paying bills, updating his resume, and handling different things in his life that depend on tech.
