A weighted sloth for Leo who struggles with self-regulation

Marksboro Community ChurchLeo loves anything with wheels—big trucks, excavators, monster trucks, and motorcycles. He came into foster care and is hoping to be reunified with his mom. Because of this situation, he is experiencing big emotions that sometimes show up as challenging behaviors. His mom is working hard to reunify with him, and Leo remains hopeful that he will be able to return to her soon.
Leo is having a very hard time right now and struggles with self-regulation. He would benefit from play therapy, but he has been moved six times this month, which has made things even more difficult for him. He is currently struggling with big emotions, and this can sometimes lead to yelling and breaking things, which has been overwhelming for his foster caregivers. A weighted, calming therapy stuffed animal could help provide Leo with comfort when he is feeling out of control. While it won’t solve everything, small comfort items like this can help him feel more grounded and supported during difficult moments.
