Leila has experienced many challenges throughout her life. Both of her parents struggled with mental health issues and substance use, and she endured the heartbreaking loss of her baby brother around the age of 10. Around that same time, her sister was incarcerated in Mexico, and shortly afterward Leila entered foster care. Since then, she has moved between at least five different homes. She currently lives in a girls’ home and will likely remain there until she ages out of foster care at 18. Along the way, she has also faced her own struggles with mental health and loneliness. Despite everything she has been through, Leila is one of the sweetest and most encouraging girls you could ever meet. She has a huge heart, loves people and animals, and always tries to make those around her smile.

Leila has had a difficult journey and is now living in a girls’ home. For her 16th birthday, she would love the chance to stay at a hotel for a special getaway. She has never experienced staying at a nice hotel and has been dreaming about relaxing, swimming in the pool, and enjoying a peaceful space of her own. This experience would mean so much to Leila, as she rarely has the opportunity to enjoy a quiet, relaxing environment. After everything she has been through and the healing she continues to work toward, this would be a truly unforgettable birthday and an incredible blessing for her.
