Makenna is a young girl who is currently living with her great aunt and uncle as she moves toward adoption. Throughout her childhood, Makenna has faced frequent changes in caregivers and schools. She attended three different schools in just one academic year, which has created a sense of instability in her education and social life. Navigating these challenges has been tough for Makenna, especially during such important years in her emotional and academic development. She and her younger brother were taken from their mother in a difficult and heart-wrenching process. Fortunately Makenna lives with her younger brother, and although she has an older brother who she sees regularly, he lives two hours away. She stays connected with her mom through weekly phone calls, trying to maintain a relationship amidst the changes in her life. Makenna is a very funny young girl, but can be very quiet until you get to know her. Makenna enjoys drawing, reading and is very creative.

Makenna is a Second Class Scout and proud webmaster for her troop. She’s super excited about the possibility of attending the 2026 National Scout Jamboree, especially since she’s never been before. It’s a special event that only happens every three years, and a few of her fellow Scouts have shared how much fun they had at previous jamborees. For Makenna, this would be a fantastic chance to meet Scouts from all over the country and learn about the different states they come from. She’s looking forward to all the new friends and adventures that await her. The jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that Makenna will cherish forever! Her family is working hard to put money towards the cost but would be grateful for assistance to help make this dream become a reality for Makenna.
