Zoey is kind, conscientious, athletic, and artistic. She cares deeply for her brother, who lives in another foster home away from her. She and her brother were found on a corner, homeless. Their mother has significant mental health and substance misuse challenges, and she did not have the means or provisions to support and care for her children. Both children also witnessed domestic violence with their fathers, and that is what brought Zoey and her brother into protective custody.

Zoey and her brother do not live together, but they have been able to see each other more often with support from their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). When they were younger, they both had hoverboards, and Zoey remembers that time as one of her happiest memories. Zoey would love the chance to go hoverboarding with her brother again during their visits. Spending time doing something fun and special together is very important to her and helps strengthen their bond.
