NE DHHS - Sarpy CountyLillia is a bright, resilient girl who has been in and out of the foster care system throughout her life. She recently moved to a new home without her sister, and this is the first time they have been separated. Despite this big change, Lillia is thriving in her placement and beginning to grow into her own identity. She has shown interest in learning how to do nails and has big dreams of attending college one day. Lillia is very motivated to do well in school and continues to apply herself and work toward her goals. Even after everything she has been through, she remains a caring and kind person.
Lillia has been in and out of foster care her whole life and is now getting close to achieving permanency in her current home. She feels like she has finally found her family and a place where she is loved and supported. Recently, Lillia had to start a new school due to a foster home change, which was a difficult transition. She also experienced bullying and has been working through those challenges while adjusting to a new environment. During this move, she was also placed in a different home than her sister, which has been especially hard as she is learning to navigate life and advocate for herself without her sibling by her side. Lillia has asked for an e-bike, something she is very interested in but knows is expensive and not something her foster family is able to provide. She would use the e-bike to go to places like the park and pool, as she enjoys being outside and staying active. Receiving this bike would mean a great deal to Lillia. She has been through a lot in her short life and has rarely asked for anything. In previous placements, she often went without new items, making this request especially meaningful. Lillia has worked hard to adjust, improve in school, and build a sense of family in her current home. This bike would not only support her interests but also help her feel seen, valued, and deserving of the stability and permanency she has worked so hard to achieve.
