A laptop of her own for Meadow who finds comfort in electronics
Meadow, 9 years old, NJ | 1 DAY WAITING

The Village of Children and FamiliesMeadow has been in foster care since she was born. After spending 21 days in neonatal care to detox, she lived with her aunt until she was three. Since then, she’s been back home with her mom but finds herself in foster care at least twice a year. Meadow faces some difficulties from fetal alcohol syndrome and the effects of heroin exposure, but she has a bright spirit and is generally a happy child. She loves electronics and often uses my computer, but she really hopes to have one of her own someday to dive deeper into her interests.
Meadow is currently sharing her caregiver's computer, which can be limiting and disruptive. Having her own laptop would provide her with a personal space where she can explore, learn, and express herself without interruptions. This small but significant addition to her life would offer her a steady source of comfort and independence, allowing her to engage with her interests and needs in a way that’s entirely her own.
