CA DCFS - Los Angeles CountyMarcela has been in foster care for five years alongside her three siblings. She has shown herself to be smart, talented, and resilient. Currently, Marcela and her younger brother are going through the adoption matching process. Throughout this journey, Marcela has had to grapple with grieving her past while learning to embrace her future. Despite these challenges, she continues to brighten every room with her smile and positive energy.
Marcela successfully graduated from 6th grade and will be moving on to middle school in the fall. Her older sister is also graduating from high school, and Marcela would like to celebrate her sister’s accomplishment with her and their younger brother at Disneyland. Marcela is currently placed with her younger brother, but her sister lives about an hour away in a separate home. Marcela is hoping to spend meaningful time with her sister before she leaves for college, as this may be an important moment for them to be together and celebrate as a family.
