Colte has faced more challenges than most people his age. He is involved in the child welfare system due to the loss of his mother. Colte loves playing basketball; while he isn't a big fan of school, he enjoys spending time with his friends. He hopes to play college basketball one day.

Colte is getting ready to start at a new school in August and is feeling nervous about the transition. After not advancing to the next grade, he will be repeating the year, and worries about being older than some of his classmates. Despite his concerns, Colte is hopeful that this will be a fresh start and an opportunity to build new friendships and succeed in school. Colte would love a Nike backpack to carry his school supplies and help him feel confident as he begins this new chapter. Having a backpack he likes would help him feel prepared, fit in with his peers, and start the school year on a positive note.
