Gauge and his older brother are staying with their grandfather after their home was destroyed in a terrible fire. Right now, they’re stuck in a hotel trying to piece their lives back together. On top of everything else, Gauge is struggling because he doesn’t have any proper footwear—no sneakers at all. It’s tough for him to adjust to their new situation, especially without the right shoes.
