Ruby is a resilient young woman who has spent most of her life in and out of foster care. She recently re-entered the system and is hopeful about finding a permanent home after moving around for so long. Ruby is a girly girl; she loves getting her nails done, going on Starbucks runs, and shopping. As the big sister in her family, she is very loving and nurturing toward her siblings.

Ruby just started 10th grade at a new school. Her math class requires her to purchase a TI calculator, but she does not have enough money to buy one. Despite this challenge, Ruby is looking forward to a fresh start and is determined to achieve good grades!
