Having grown up in foster care, Irene chose to use her experience and talents to give back to foster youth. Irene is currently advocating for bills to be passed to change the California foster system. With her advocacy, Bill AB1512 was passed which allows survivor benefits to pass to foster youth instead of being taken unethically by counties. In addition, Irene creates wellness and gratitude journals that help foster youth with their personal development. She is working on creating a digital wellness course that helps foster youth learn how to journal.

After her time in the foster care system, Irene became determined to find a career that allows her to meaningfully help others. She is now pursuing a career as a homeopathic doctor and hopes to one day provide complimentary wellness services to at-risk youth. As Irene begins her studies in homeopathic medicine, she is hoping for some examination tools to support her learning. In particular, Irene is hoping for a stethoscope carrying case to safely transport her equipment between courses and patients.
