During her childhood, she faced many challenges within her family of origin, which ultimately led to her placement in the foster care system. Despite these difficult experiences, Shauntay has shown remarkable resilience and strength as she has aged out of the system.

Shauntay is an incredible young woman who has already overcome so much, including growing up in the foster care system as a child. Today, she's a single mother raising three young children while navigating life in poverty, carrying more on her shoulders than most people ever will. Right now, even something as simple as her favorite snacks feels out of reach. A few of her go to comfort items, ramen, supplies for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and protein bars, would go a long way. It's a small gift, but it would give Shauntay something to enjoy for herself, a little relief and comfort during a time when she's stretched so thin taking care of everyone else.
