Nykia is a youth justice advocate with a youth-led organization advocating for Kansas youth. Beyond juvenile justice reform, Nykia hopes to be a part of the movement to close down the last youth prison in the state. Nykia believes in investing in alternative programs like recreational programs, increased educational opportunities, and job training and placement access.

Nykia recently lost her job and is now navigating that financial setback while also preparing for weight-loss surgery in just two weeks. Her recovery requires a specific diet, and she'll need groceries and nutritional items she doesn't typically keep on hand. Grocery support would ease some of that financial pressure so she can focus fully on taking care of herself. This surgery is an important step in the healthier future Nykia has been working toward, and covering her groceries would give her both practical relief and real encouragement along the way.
