Culture Creations IncNykia is a youth justice advocate with a youth-led organization advocating for Kansas youth. Beyond juvenile justice reform, Nykia hopes to be a part of the movement to close down the last youth prison in the state. Nykia believes in investing in alternative programs like recreational programs, increased educational opportunities, and job training and placement access.
Nykia is preparing for surgery on September 14 and is looking forward to finally putting her health and wellness front and center. She recently lost her job, which has made it harder to afford the things that would support her during this transition. Once she's recovered, she's hoping to make walking a regular part of her life, and a good pair of supportive walking shoes would help her get there. This gift would give her both something practical and a boost of encouragement as she begins this new chapter focused on herself.
