Cody is a motivated young man ready to start college. As a former foster youth, he has faced many challenges but remains focused on building a better future for himself and others. He will major in Psychology with the goal of becoming a mental health counselor for youth who have experienced trauma. Cody wants to be the supportive figure he lacked growing up, listening and helping others heal. He is known for his compassion, dependability, and self-awareness. Outside of school, he enjoys writing poetry, playing basketball, and hiking, finding peace in nature. Cody is determined to turn his struggles into purpose and make the most of his college journey.

Cody is working hard to build a brighter future for himself. He has been actively applying for jobs and is determined to find employment, but he faces one important barrier: he doesn’t have appropriate clothing for job interviews. Because of his size, Cody has had difficulty finding donated clothing that fits him properly, leaving him without the professional attire he needs to make a strong first impression. A gift card to Ross would allow Cody to purchase interview-appropriate clothing that fits comfortably and helps him feel confident as he meets with potential employers. Providing this for Cody would give him the opportunity to walk into his next interview feeling prepared, confident, and ready to take the next step toward independence.
