Bonnie is a free-spirited, animal-loving girl currently in foster care. She has faced many obstacles in her life, both before entering care and while in care. She is working very hard to overcome these struggles. She is a very nurturing girl who loves animals and dreams of becoming a veterinarian one day. She is also a huge fan of The Addams Family, whether it's the cartoon, the live-action show, or the movies. Her favorite color is purple, and her favorite food is Krispy Kreme donuts.

Bonnie is a bright girl, but reading, especially sounding out unfamiliar words, has been a real struggle for her. It's something she feels embarrassed about, even though it's a completely normal part of learning to read at her age. She wants a way to practice at home so that by the time she's back in the classroom, reading feels a little easier and a lot less stressful. A set of phonics flashcards would give her exactly that: a low-pressure way to build her skills and confidence, one sound at a time.
