Nykia is a youth justice advocate with a youth-led organization advocating for Kansas youth. Beyond juvenile justice reform, Nykia hopes to be a part of the movement to close down the last youth prison in the state. Nykia believes in investing in alternative programs like recreational programs, increased educational opportunities, and job training and placement access.

Nykia is preparing for her niece to come into her care unexpectedly and wants to make sure she has a warm, comfortable, and welcoming place to rest. Because this transition happened quickly, Nykia does not currently have a comforter for the queen-size bed she is preparing. A pink comforter would provide essential bedding for her niece while also creating a cheerful, inviting space that feels like her own. This item would help her niece feel comfortable, valued, and cared for during a major life transition. Granting this emergency wish would let Nykia prepare the bed immediately and focus on providing reassurance and stability.
