Jaime spent several years in foster care as a young child along with his large sibling group. He says those years often feel like a blur to him, with both good and bad times. He remembers being moved, being separated from his brothers, and being confused about his birth parents. He’s finding his own path now and realizes having a support system makes life a little easier. Becoming an independent adult has been a huge transition, and he’s still working hard.

Jaime recently had to change careers and now works in construction, but he doesn't have the right footwear for the job and can't afford to buy it right now. In the meantime, he's been wearing regular sneakers, which not only puts him at risk on the job site but also leaves him coming home with wet, uncomfortable feet every day.
