Nakeyshia is a resilient young mother and former foster youth who has fought tirelessly to build a better life for herself and her children. Overcoming the odds, she earned her bachelor’s degree with a dream of giving back to the child welfare system that raised her. Despite her determination and hard work, Nakeyshia navigated a sudden crisis without a family safety net to lean on which led to her becoming homeless with her two kids. Through it all, her devotion to her two young children remains her top priority, and she continues to face every obstacle with incredible grace, strength, and hope. She obtained housing 3 months after becoming homeless with the help of a community organization and now is trying to slowly but surely furnish her apartment while still putting food on table on a gig worker's inconsistent income.

During a difficult transition, Nakeyshia is doing everything she can to keep her family stable while working delivery gigs. However, inconsistent earnings make it hard to cover basic essentials.
