Javier is diagnosed with a significant developmental disability. He came into foster care in early 2026 after concerns regarding medical and educational neglect by his parents. Before foster care, Javier had limited access to appropriate and timely services for his medical, developmental and educational needs, as his elderly parents had limited financial resources and struggled to provide the level of care and support he required. Javier is now thriving in his foster home and has adjusted quickly to his new environment. He is doing very well in school and responding positively to school and time with his peers. Javier is a sweet and kind boy who loves laughing while watching Disney movies in both English and Spanish, especially Cars and Bluey. Javier has also enjoyed spending time outside in the backyard at his foster home and being part of helping with food preparation at his foster family barbecues.

Javier's favorite activity is watching Disney movies and television shows. He especially enjoys the music, recognizes familiar scenes, and often laughs and gets excited when he spots his beloved Disney characters. Due to Javier's developmental needs and recent entry into foster care, it is helpful for him to have access to calming strategies, activities, and environments. Javier shares the community TV in his foster home, and his birthday wish is to have a TV in his room so he can enjoy his favorite shows in his own space, where he feels comfortable, regulated, and relaxed.
