Joshua likes to be active, being outside and enjoys all things superhero's and action figures. He has spent 3 about years in foster care due to a failed adoption. Over the past few years, Joshua has struggled to find a stable placement to meet his mental health needs. Joshua does not have family he can rely on and is currently in a group home setting.

Joshua has been working hard to make progress in his foster care placement. After an adoption that did not work out, he has had a difficult time finding a stable home that meets his needs. In his current placement, he is growing, adjusting, and moving toward his goals. For his upcoming birthday, he is asking for something that means more than it might seem, the chance to choose his favorite things all by himself. Being trusted to decide what he wants, and having it arrive at his door with his name on it, would give him a rare sense of independence and pride. For a young man who has been through so much change, it would be a birthday where he is the one who decides.
