Fiona entered foster care in February 2022 after being removed from the care of her parents due to many incidents of domestic violence. At the same time, she also experienced the heartbreaking separation from both of her younger siblings, who were and continue to be placed in different homes. Despite these hardships, Fiona has shown remarkable resilience and has blossomed into a bright, creative, and compassionate young girl. She has lived with her loving foster family since the end of 2022 and is thriving in their care. Fiona enjoys music, art, animals, reading, and spending time with friends. She is doing well in school, particularly in math, and has developed a passion for playing the violin. Her greatest wish is to be officially adopted by the family she has come to call her own, ideally before the holidays.

Over the past three years, music has become an important part of Fiona’s life and her healing. She was removed from the care of her parents because of domestic violence, and she was also separated from both of her younger siblings, who are still placed in different homes. Through it all, she has found comfort in the violin. She has learned more than thirty songs, joined her school orchestra, and performed in recitals. Her therapist has identified music as an important way for her to process what she has been through, express her emotions, and find comfort and joy. Fiona would love to learn to play the guitar, and a complete starter kit would give her everything she needs to get started right out of the box, including a guitar bag, strap, tuner, capo, strings, picks, a hex wrench, a guide, and a cleaning cloth. With her own guitar and the tools to care for it, she could pursue something she genuinely loves, find another source of confidence and self-expression, and keep building her musical skills.
