Krissy has faced many challenges throughout her life. With her father incarcerated and her mother struggling with substance abuse, she was often left to care for her sibling with disabilities at a young age. Despite these hardships, she has shown incredible strength and resilience. Since entering foster care, she has continued to work hard in school while maintaining a job. She is excited to take the next step toward independence by entering the Extended Foster Care program. She has overcome so much and continues working toward a bright, successful future for herself.

One thing Krissy enjoys doing before bed is listening to meditation music. This helps her relax and maintain a consistent sleep schedule. As Krissy prepares to turn 18 and transition into a shared apartment, she will no longer have group home staff waking her up each morning and making sure she gets to school on time. She would really benefit from having an Amazon Alexa to help her maintain a consistent bedtime routine, set daily alarms, and wake up on time for school. This would be a great tool to help Krissy develop independence, establish healthy routines, and hold herself accountable as she transitions into adulthood. Attending school consistently is especially important because it is a requirement for her to remain in extended foster care and maintain her housing. Krissy understands how important it is to stay on track with her education, and having an Alexa would provide her with the structure and reminders she needs to be successful.
