Hair accessories for Harlow who finds comfort in biking outdoors and needs a way to keep her hair out of her face while enjoying her favorite escape
Harlow, 16 years old, VA

The Friends of Foster CareHarlow has experienced several foster care placements and currently lives in a group home. After years of instability, she continues to struggle with sleep and often feels exhausted, making it difficult to keep up with school. However, spending time outdoors, especially going for walks in the fresh air, helps her feel calmer and more hopeful. Harlow dreams of becoming a park ranger and hopes to build a future surrounded by nature. Encouraging her to spend more time outside and find healthy ways to manage stress would help support her well-being as she works toward her goals.
Harlow’s mornings start early, often with a ride in the cool air, and a hair accessories set would help her keep her hair neatly out of the way. Scrunchies, clips, and headbands in a variety of styles would let her switch up her look, feel pulled together for school, and tuck her hair under her helmet with ease. Small touches like these can do a lot for a teenager’s confidence, especially one who has had little say over how she presents herself. For a girl who is slowly learning to feel good in her own skin, a few pretty things to choose from are a small but meaningful gift.
