A trip to target for Brenda who is preparing for a baby

Mecklenburg County Guardian ad LitemThe GAL volunteer has just recently gotten to know Brenda, as she is a new child in foster care. She was a homeless teen that is currently staying at a Residential Program for pregnant teens. Brenda is currently not in school, because it is summer. She is from Honduras and reports that she completed up to 9th grade in Honduras and did quite well in school. She is a rising 10th grader who loves to read and listen to music.
Brenda is pregnant and is concerned that she doesn’t have any maternity clothes as she grows during her pregnancy. She would love the chance to pick out some special maternity clothes so she can feel comfortable with her changing body. She would also like to pick out some books and a radio to have some relaxing activities to keep her busy before the baby arrives.
