Valerie is living with family friends and although they are trying to provider her with all the things teenagers needs, the budget only goes so far. Valerie longs to be just like her peers and would love to update her wardrobe.
Valerie is 23 years old and lives in NJ
Due to terrible circumstances, Valerie was living with a relative until this person was no longer able to care for her due to advancing illness. Fortunately, a family friend was able to step in and provide Valerie with a loving home. Although she feels cared for, Valerie still fears that her situation will change, based on her past experiences. After successfully completing summer school, Valerie is on track to graduate HS this year.
