Valerie, 25 years old, NJ

Due to terrible circumstances, Valerie was living with a relative until this person was no longer able to care for her due to advancing illness. Fortunately, a family friend was able to step in and provide Valerie with a loving home. Although she feels cared for, Valerie still fears that her situation will change, based on her past experiences. After successfully completing summer school, Valerie is on track to graduate HS this year.
