Alison was accepted into the 2018 Foster Youth Internship Program in Washington, D.C. This is a highly esteemed, life-changing youth empowerment program for young adults who have spent their formative years in foster care, offering them the opportunity to intern in a Congressional office for the summer. CCAI provides full service, wrap-around care throughout the internship. However, Alison will need the essential housing supplies such as bedding, toiletries, a dining set, cooking supplies, and Tupperware to name a few.
Alison is 26 years old and lives in IL
Alison was in the foster care system in the state of Illinois and is a junior undergraduate student of Illinois State University, where she is pursuing her degree in Social Work with a focus in Psychology, Sociology, Law, and Anthropology. Her prior experience with Together We Rise allowed her to participate several benefit events for foster youth and this will be a valuable experience to fall back on in the Foster Youth Internship (FYI) Program.
