A train set for Trey who has a fascination with trains

Trey, 14 years old

Wish submitted by:

Homes for Children Corporation

Trey is an active, happy, always giggling little boy, who came into foster care at age one due to his biological mother's heavy drug use and physical abuse to Trey by her boyfriend. He has made great progress since being in care. He does not remember his "boo boos", the scars from his physical abuse and does not remember his mother. He is slightly developmentally delayed and has made a lot of progress academically since starting school. He is very proud of knowing his letters, numbers and colors. He loves books and will often ask to "read a story". He plays well with other children and is sensitive towards others feelings.

This is a train set that Trey saw already assembled in the store. He was fascinated and played with it for a long time. When it was time to leave, he begged: "If I be good, can I get this." Trey has always been fascinated with trains. He likes to read books about trains and in his make-believe stories, he is always going on a choo-choo train to somewhere to meet another person who likes trains. Granting him this wish will be extremely satisfying and rewarding as it will afford him hours of imaginative play and will also serve as therapy for him.
