This summer, 20-25 young women, ages 14-18, from the New York City Foster Care system will enjoy an amazing summer camp experience in the Berkshire Mountains of Connecticut. Because of the instability of life in foster care, these young girls are unlikely to have ever been given an opportunity to leave the hot summer streets of their neighborhoods. Felix is providing that opportunity! On August 6th, a charter bus will be bringing the girls to camp. From swimming in the lake, team challenges, scavenger hunts, volleyball, softball, basketball, night hikes, pizza parties, campfires, karaoke and so much more, the girls will create memories to last a lifetime. By incorporating Camp Felix’s RESPECT values program, we will also promote personal growth, self-discovery and leadership building for these young women that will last them a lifetime.
