A wheelchair ramp for Chilano who is beating the odds

Posted Feb 6, 2019
Chilano suffered brain damage at the age of 6 months and has been in a wonderful foster/adopt home, along with his twin brother since that time. Although originally his prognosis was to never walk, he is proving them all wrong! Chilano recently got a wheelchair and was able to start preschool with his brother! His preadoptive placement purchased a home to help accommodate Chilano and they have been making handicap modifications wherever needed. Chilano struggles getting his wheelchair in and out of the house and a ramp would make life so much easier for him.

Chilano is 8 years old and lives in CO

Chilano is an amazing and resilient little guy who has already lived a very hard life. He has been in a wonderful foster home since he was just 6 months old. Chilano is not expected to ever be able to walk, but he did get a wheelchair 6 months ago and has been doing great with it! He is beginning to respond to queue’s his amazing foster/adopt mom gives him. Chilano has a twin brother who is placed with him. They are extremely close and love playing together with all things “little boys” like cars, trucks, balls and anything having to do with sports! Chilano desperately wants to be able to do whatever his brother can do and it is important that he be able to get out in his wheelchair. Despite his past, Chilano is a very happy little boy with huge potential!

Jane sent an update on the wish for Chilano.

"THANK YOU so very much from Chilano and his foster mother for this very generous donation for the materials for volunteers to build a wheelchair ramp! Chilano just recently was able to begin using a wheelchair and it has been extremely hard for foster mom to get him in and out of the house. This will make their lives SO much easier and enable them to get out and about much more often. From the bottom of all of our hearts, we thank you!"
