Karlita is an outgoing and exceptional young woman. She has lots of friends and has really turned her life around. She is doing well in school and engaged in lots of extra curricular activities and still manages to do well in school. She is graduating from high school in June and will be heading to college. She went from an angry and withdrawn girl to the outgoing and happy girl she is now. She has been living with a maternal aunt since she came into foster care. Unfortunately her aunt has limited resources for assisting Karlita with her college expenses. Karlita has received several scholarships to cover books and tuition but needs to purchase essential items for her dorm.
Karlita is 22 years old and lives in CA
Karlita is an outgoing young woman with an incredible smile. She is a senior in high school and is and excellent student. She has a 3.9 GPA which she is so proud of because initially she didn't care about school. Her CASA took her to several college fairs which opened her eyes to the possibility of going to college and after that she really was determined to get better grades so that she can go to college. Not only did she get better grades but she is very active in school. She is on the basketball team, prom committee and is President of the African American student board. She has received college acceptances to many of the schools she has applied to including UCLA and Texas A & M.
