Mealani was gifted an iPad through OSW and has been using it as her main method of communication. It has really opened up new doors for her and she is doing so great! Mealani needs an iTunes gift card so that she can download applications and versions of applications that better assist with her communication and recreation.
Mealani is 12 years old and lives in NJ
Mealani is a stunning girl whose winning personality and expressive eyes captivate everybody she meets. She loves to use her mechanical wheelchair and assert her independence, listen to music, watch movies, participate in arts and crafts, and attend school. Mealani has learned sign language, and is learning to read and write. She loves to go to the library and participate in story-time. Mealani recently had the lead in her school play as Dorothy from the the Wizard of Oz and she is a natural star! Mealani has been in the foster care system since 2013, and she has resided in a long term specialized care facility since her initial placement. Mealani would thrive in a home setting, and her team is looking for an adoptive home for her.
