Virtual Camp Felix for Edward to stay connected to his friends this summer
Posted Aug 5, 2020
For 4 weeks each summer, 150 to 200 children from the NYC foster care system are given the chance to leave behind their difficult circumstances to make memories at Camp Felix in Putnam Valley, New York. For our campers, whose lives are often in disarray, Camp Felix is a second family. For the first time in 14 years, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our in-person summer programming as a result of COVID-19. However, we remain dedicated to bringing the community spirit of Camp Felix through a virtual camp experience. The enrollment for "Camp Felix At Home" has already begun, and we are committed to providing free computers and connectivity to all the children in need. Workshops will include arts and crafts, creative writing, music, fitness, dance, trivia, and more. Each camper will receive a “Camp in A Bag” filled with supplies for each activity. Please help to give Edward this opportunity for connection and fun this summer.
