Rafael has outgrown his shoes and is need of a new pair of shoes, especially for school. Rafael's middle school has a policy in which the students are only allowed to wear white or black shoes. Rafael has chosen a pair of Vans because he says they are simple and nice looking. He knows these shoes will be considered cool and he can fit in with his peers.
Rafael is 15 years old and lives in CA
Rafael is a kind young boy who is currently in foster care. Rafael likes helping around the house. He gladly does chores and offers to take out the trash, wash the dishes or sweep the floor. Rafael came from El Salvador at the age of 8. He struggles with the English language but is determined to do well in school and master the language. Rafael's favorite subject in school is math.
