Shakya says she wants to listen to music when she is practicing her basketball game at home. She says she appreciates the relaxation but needs the practice of shooting! She is requesting a speaker so that she can have music during relaxing "work".
Shakiya is 19 years old and lives in NC
Shakiya has been in foster care for just a short while, and loves basketball! She is on her school's girls' basketball team. She is very studious, and knows she has to be to be able to play basketball. She would like to go on to college, but hasn't decided where. She is interested in getting a basketball scholarship to help her through college. Shakiya is friendly and kind, but tends to want to stay out of the drama that she feels others find themselves in. She likes to keep her room neater vs. cluttered, claiming herself a "neat freak".
