Shakiya says it is always good to keep some bobby pins on hand for her hair for different situations. She enjoys doing her hair differently, depending on how she feels. She would love to have some extras to pin her hair back and make some different hair styles.

Shakiya has been in foster care for just a short while, and loves basketball! She is on her school's girls' basketball team. She is very studious, and knows she has to be to be able to play basketball. She would like to go on to college, but hasn't decided where. She is interested in getting a basketball scholarship to help her through college. Shakiya is friendly and kind, but tends to want to stay out of the drama that she feels others find themselves in. She likes to keep her room neater vs. cluttered, claiming herself a "neat freak".
