A Laptop for Alexander who needs to be able to do his mental health services virtually at times

Alexander, 14 years old, NJ

Wish submitted by:

NJ DCFS - Monmouth County

Alex is funny, kind and just like any boy his age; however due to trauma in his life he can shut down at times and become very introverted and withdrawn. He likes to be active and play outside with his friends. He enjoys playing basketball and baseball the most. When he gets upset, he likes to be left alone and stays in his room and watches TV or plays with Legos.

Alex is receiving individual therapy, mentoring and the possibility of other services; all of which have been off and on virtually due to COVID. Alex has been using his mother’s phone for these Zoom meetings; however Alex really needs his own laptop to continue with his virtual appointments. His mother does not have the resources or finances to be able to get him a laptop at this time and using her phone is not always feasible. Alex is such a good brother that he told his caseworker that he would share the laptop with his sibling when he is not using it so they can play games too. A laptop with camera and microphone capabilities would ensure that Alex never has to miss any of his very important mental health services.
