Lyanla has spent a significant amount of time in and out of the foster care system. Her mother has passed away, and she hasn't seen her father in a couple of years. Currently, she is living in a non-relative resource home and is doing quite well. Lyanla is receiving the mental health support she needs and has a strong support system with her resource family.
