A Chromebook of his own for Tom to further his coding studies

Tom would love to have his own Chromebook. A majority of his homework is done on computer - and sharing one in the family can be challenging. He is looking forward to computer coding class this summer and will be creating power point presentations for school next year. Having a Chromebook would help Tom stay enthusiastic about doing his work, and would benefit from more time to explore the extensive resources provided by the school for reading and educational exploration. Tom utilized more of these “extras” in class than the typical student. He is inquisitive! Having his own computer through middle school would greatly support the progress he is making and give him more time & flexibility to work on things.
Tom is 11 years old and lives in FL
Tom is a sweet and caring boy who loves animals and wants to study Marine Biology one day. He was particularly fond of Winter the Dolphin at the Clearwater Aquarium, and has collected every book on dolphins he could find. Tom takes dance classes and swims. He has struggled in school and had repeated ear surgeries. He will be undergoing treatment for a chest wall deformity soon. Tom worked very hard this year to catch up in school, and will be entering 5th grade with his twin brother. He has participated in speech and occupational therapy, but remains enthusiastic, sweet and optimistic. He’s a child who says “I love you” regularly through the day. He and his brother are being raised by their grandparents.
