Ellie entered foster care because of her family's substance abuse problems. Although she missed living with her mom, her foster home has been a positive change. She now gets to enjoy being a kid and participate in activities she didn’t have the chance to do before. While there, Ellie has also focused on her health and discovered some medical concerns, and she is facing these challenges with determination and is working towards becoming stronger and healthier.

When Ellie entered foster care, she began experiencing severe stomach issues, initially thought to be a result of her trauma. After consulting multiple doctors, they found growths on her liver that require surgery. She is scheduled for the procedure next week and is hopeful that having a TV to watch at home will help her recovery go more smoothly. Having a smart TV would allow her to access Netflix and other streaming services, providing her entertainment during her healing process.
