Sky spent 6 years in the foster care system, which was filled with challenges, including feelings of punishment for speaking up and the heartbreak of being separated from everything familiar. Despite strict group home environments and instability—at times even facing homelessness—she found strength through her faith in God, her love for school, and the support of kind teachers. Her experiences taught her the power of patience, compassion, and resilience. Now she’s proud of her perseverance and unwavering faith. Looking ahead, she envisions herself as a successful traveling nurse, a UCLA graduate, and a source of healing and love for others—especially those who need the care she once longed for.

Sky has recently developed an interest in playing the piano and is truly enjoying her lessons. This new passion is enhancing her creativity and improving her memory. She feels she is making great progress with her teacher and would love to have a keyboard at home to practice more often. Having her own electric keyboard would make her very happy!
