They and their siblings were taken away from their biological parents due to neglect, witnessing domestic violence, and experiencing physical and emotional abuse. August lacks confidence and is fearful of becoming independent. They struggle with basic life skills and lack many experiences, such as going to amusement parks, the mall, or just being a teen.

August enjoys drawing on their phone and tablet and would like to create a picture book of all their artwork.
