For the first time, she can decorate her walls, cook her own meals, and enjoy the quiet peace that comes with stability. However, even with the excitement of independence, starting from scratch can be overwhelming. Laila is working hard to furnish her new place on a tight budget, often prioritizing essentials over comfort. She is eager to create a home for herself and her dog, a place where she can relax after a long day at school. Currently, she is completing a few core classes before enlisting in the United States Marines.
Laila is taking a brave step toward purpose, stability, and belonging as she pursues becoming a United States Marine. Having grown up in foster care without a stable family or home, she is optimistic that the Marines will provide her with structure, support, and a sense of sisterhood she has never experienced. In addition to her aspirations, Laila dreams of making a home of her own. She hopes to have a TV to enjoy her favorite shows and movies during her downtime and to host watch parties for her friends. Laila enjoys cooking, spending time with friends, and bonding with her Emotional Support Animal, Bella.
