Leland has CP and very limited use of his right hand. He is being raised by his grandma, who is on a fixed income. She is a very sweet lady, but most months has a hard time making ends meet. Leland loves to read, play any sports where kicking is the main goal, hang out with his friends, or with his grandma's cat, and he loves telling jokes. He also volunteers to read the morning announcements at school and would do it every day if they would let him. He is oblivious to the world around him on most days, and his classroom goal is self-efficacy. He did make progress, but still wants to know why things have to be a certain way at a certain time. At home, it's whatever, whenever. But he is a great kid and well-liked by all.

Leland has a very distinct palate. In the lunchroom, he often gags at the smell of things like mayonnaise or cooked hamburgers. Although he consumes too many carbs, he is an active and growing boy! Grandma is worried that if she can no longer meet his essential needs, he might be taken away from her. With SNAP benefits on hold for November, it’s crucial that they receive some assistance!
