Kathie entered the foster care system when she was 13 years old and spent a lot of time in group homes. She was homeless when she aged out but never gave up her dream of being independent, having a home of her own, and perhaps becoming a singer. Kathie has a lovely voice and has sung at different community events as well as volunteered at functions to give back to the community. Her dream has shifted somewhat as she now has a 3-year-old daughter and a son on the way. She just recently moved into her own apartment and is concentrating on making it a great home for the children

Having a studio set would mean so much to Kathie — it would give her the tools she needs to start recording, mixing, and sharing her music with the world. She’s made a commitment to take her talent seriously and begin her journey as an artist. This wish represents her next step toward building confidence, following her dreams, and using her voice to inspire others.
