Karma was placed into foster care when she was about 10 years old. She has bounced around different homes with foster parents and family members. Her mother passed away after taking her own life. Even though Karma misses her mom, she finds peace in music.

Karma has not been able to have quality time with her family ot travel on vacations together. This year, her older sister and guardian have decided to take her to Disneyland for the holiday, creating a memorable experience instead of exchanging traditional gifts under the tree. With her high school graduation approaching in the spring, this trip represents their last chance to bond in this way, making it all the more special for the family.
